Malaysia is a tropical country which rains a lot.
Due to the weather and geographical approach, the humidity is very high.
Typically when you are outside the building, the relative humidity is around 55% to 65%.
Mankind ideal humidity is only around 40%.
You may wonder what happen when the humidity is high?
- Breeding ground for microscopic organisms.
- Mold, Mildew and Dustmite strives on this environment. Bad for allergies and asthma people.
- Personal Discomfort.
- Makes you feel like sweating.
- Damaged wooden furniture.
- The moisture will somehow bend your wood in long term.
Since we cannot do anything on the weather in Malaysia, but we can deal with it when it comes to our house.
Introducing Albert the Dehumidifier.
What is Dehumidifier?
Dehumidifier is the opposite of humidifier, which it absorb the moisture in the air and became water.
See below on how Alberts extract the moisture from air and store into it’s tank.
By setting the desire humidity level to 35%, Albert sensor will take the parameter on surrounding and drys off the air within the room and once it reaches 35% it will turn off by default.
I uses Albert a lot mainly to get rid of the Dust Mite in my bedroom, activate Albert during office hour and when i came back from work, the room is dry and Dust Mite Free.
There’s a case where i washed my cloth at 12am, and i need to pack it into my luggage at 7am to go travel. What i did is i dry my cloth in the toilet and put on Albert in the toilet for full 5 hours. At 5am when i woke up, the cloth is already dry.
What an amazing side usage.
I have tried with Albert capabilities, with my room around 60% humidity it is able to absorb full tank of 4.6 litre water in 8 hours. That’s like 3x 1.5 litre of water bottle, which is a lot.
The only drawback of having Albert the Dehumidifier is due to the operation requires Compressor to constantly cold and heat up the plate, it consumes more electricity. However, all Effective Dehumidifier are basically using the compressor so i am guessing other are the same.
