How do you create your own website? Well, for that question, if you google it will load tons of the information and you can filter it from there. But what i gonna share is all the steps i took to create my own website.
FOR BEGINNER, who has NO IDEA at all on how the internet works, below are the tutorial for you.
To enable a website going, you need to have a url; very much like facebook.com or like mine, seanyew.com. We call it Domain.
That’s the first half. The other second half is you need a service to host your domain, let’s call it Hosting website.
Domain is like your real home address, where you give it to friend when you ask them to come over to your house.
Hosting is pretty much your house itself, and all the furniture you place in your house represent the content you put in website term.
To purchase a name, usually people will recommend 2 company.
IS IT FREE? THE ANSWER for above 2 company is : NO, IT ISN’T.
Practically, if you compare between the 2, you may find that Godaddy offers the cheapest price for 1st year if you sign up with them for 2 years.
However, if for me practically choose namecheap over godaddy. Reason being? Although namecheap is slightly expensive than Godaddy, but if you register with namecheap, they include you with whois guard.
Again for Beginner who don’t have any idea on what or how whois guard is, the link is here. If you paste url to it, it will tell you everything about the website nature, who’s their domain and host etc. But with namecheap.com, they package it together and sell it to you for a 12 month subscription programme. What’s the benefits? Well, it’ll help to protect from the whois search engine.
As for the hosting website, i am using bluehost over hostgator, exabyte(if you are in malaysia), ipage and etc.
Couple of reason why.
Bluehost vs hostgator: Both are good in speed and reliability, but bluehost cheaper.
ipage vs bluehost: ipage is cheaper than bluehost, but lack of speed in loading.
bluehost vs any Malaysia local hosting: I think bluehost is safer. (Own opinion only)
Free free to browse their website through beside banners.
Anyhow, feel free to inbox me if you have any extra question on it.
